DEMOLITION GRANTED

This neglected property is one of six standing examples of beautiful nineteenth century country homes built by Mr. Menzies who was a friend and confidant/admirer of Benjamin Disraeli, the Earl of Beaconsfield, the most eminent British Prime Minister, after whom our fair city is named. This area is included in the "Grand répertoire du patrimoine bâti de Montréal" and #35 is the keystone building of the Menzies cottages, classified 3-stars in the Beaupré-Michaud Repertory of the city of Beaconsfield. The rear of the property is where the St Mary's in the Field church, built in 1882, was located and why we have an Old Church Road. This property has a long history with Farm 31, "Le Bocage" P.U.G. Valois, "Homestead" John H. Menzies Beaconsfield Vineyard, "The Grove" Francis-Upton, "Grove Point Hotel" Claude Hoskin and "The BYC" city of Beaconsfield (26 Lakeshore Road).

The SHBBHS hopes that the purchaser of this property will enjoy the life style of the local historical area and not try to modernize or use this location to showoff a huge mansion which would ruin this area for all who enjoy it as is.
